Internal Tables
The Brief
Bedside tables were required for each side of a double bed.
Tight space restrictions prevented the use of standard bedside tables.
The Challenge
The tables had to be no wider than 200mm in order to fit on each side of the bed.
However, they also had to avoid the appearance of being too slender relative to height.
The Result
A support bracket was made from two strips of stainless steel that cantilever off the wall in a raked manner.
The bracket holds two shelves, around 200x250mm in size. The cantilevered stainless steel bracket provides a more interesting support arrangement than a typical set of shelves, whilst meeting the tight space requirements.
