“Rota” Tables
The Brief
Advanced Design Innovations was engaged to design and develop a working prototype of an unusual rotating table to be used throughout a high-end inner Melbourne apartment building. The aim of the project was to provide a solution to tight space constraints within the apartments, without compromising on the desired ambience of luxury and prestige.
The Challenge
The tables had to be designed with an indexing pin at one end only.
This required a high level of precision and ingenuity to ensure that the mechanism could withstand heavy everyday use without breaking, wobbling or twisting.
The Result
We successfully delivered a prototype - finished in laminex with support poles made of aluminium with a powder-coated finish
– that addressed all the design requirements of the brief. Our solution included a specially designed spring loaded pin, as none was available that could provide the necessary support.
